Whereas, in the past, „the contrast agent was pushed to the target organ by the contrast agent”, MEDTRON has now developed a contrast agent injector which carries out this task by means of a physiological saline solution (NaCl). The contrast agent thus reaches the target organ without any venous contrast agent depot forming on the way.

A contrast agent run-on is avoided. The perfusion, parenchyma and wash-out phases are clearly separated.

One welcome side-effect is a decrease of up to 30 % in the use of contrast agent. The follow-up application of physiological saline solution (NaCl) does not burden the patient. On the contrary, precise timing can even reduce radiation load.
