Saarbrücken, June 3 2026: MEDTRON AG presents the 12h System, a new generation of multi-use consumables for CT and MR imaging. The system addresses a concrete clinical need: facilities with structured daytime operations – including outpatient radiology centers and radiology practices – require a hygienically validated and economically viable solution for multi-patient use that is tailored to their actual operational rhythm.

In modern radiology, facilities face the ongoing challenge of balancing hygiene safety, workflow efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Single-use systems offer maximum safety but generate significant costs and waste. Systems designed for 24-hour operations, on the other hand, are often oversized for facilities with structured daytime schedules. The 12h System closes this gap with a validated solution designed precisely for one working day.

The 12h System is clinically validated for multi-patient use for up to twelve hours and certified in accordance with the European Medical Device Regulation (MDR). The filling tube systems are equipped with a Drop-Stop valve, and all connectors are disinfectant-resistant. The transparent blue color coding enables clear visual differentiation from the Day Safe System (24h), minimizing the risk of mix-ups in clinical practice. Application-specific filling tube systems are available for both CT and MR use.

«Radiology facilities are operating under increasing economic pressure – without any compromise on hygiene or patient safety being acceptable,» explains Markus Bappert, CEO of MEDTRON AG. «The 12h System provides a validated answer to exactly this conflict: consistently designed for the operational reality of outpatient facilities while meeting all relevant safety requirements.»

The 12h System complements MEDTRON AG’s existing portfolio and, together with the Day Safe System for 24-hour operations and single-use consumables, forms a tiered supply concept for facilities of all sizes. It simultaneously replaces the reusable consumables of the 8h System, which will be discontinued as planned by the end of 2026.
